Die Unterkunft

Our apartment is on the top floor (with an elevator) of a historic 7-storey palace built in 1885. It’s located in the city center at Via Filippo Turati, about 200 m (a seven-minute walk) from Stazione Termini (the main station) on the Esquiline Hill in Rome. The apartment has a spacious rooftop terrace facing east. Inside it has a large living room (the salotto) which – separated by a partition – also houses a double bed. Additionally, there’s a smaller room (the studiolo) used as an office, a kitchen with a dining area that opens onto the terrace and a bathroom. The apartment is peaceful and sunny and the windows open into a quiet courtyard.

Another highlight: A second terrace on the roof of the house can be accessed from our terrace. From there you have a breathtaking 360° view of Rome.

The apartments historic character has been well preserved: The doors made of massive chestnut wood, the terracotta tiles, the vaulted brick ceilings and a marble kitchen sink are all original and carefully renovated.

In addition to these historic elements, the home is equipped with a ceiling fan, air conditioning (which due to the great natural climate is rarely in use), Wifi, kitchen appliances and all other amenities of daily life.

Das Urlaubsgebiet

The Via Filippo Turati is in the Rione XV quarter on the Esquilin Hill, the tallest of Rome’s seven hills. Supermarkets and all other necessities of daily life are all conveniently close by. The Nuovo Mercato Esquilino, a spectacular market reminiscent of a middle eastern Suq, and the Mercato Centrale, the amazing food section of Stazione Termini (the main station), are located just a few blocks away.

From Piazza dei Cinquecento in front of Stazione Termini (the main station) one can find public transport to all parts of the Eternal City including its airports. In addition to numerous bus lines and trams, also the underground Lines A and B can be found there. They taking you e.g. directly to the Vatican, Piazza di Spagna, Piazza del Popolo and the Colosseo. Another stop of the underground Line A is just around the corner from the apartment at the Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II.
