Wohnung zur Miete, 700 Meter bis zum Strand

I stayed at the apartment from the 2nd August to the 18th 2018 with my wife and two children. I was disappointed both with the location and the apartment. The owner said to us told us is was a 9 minute walk to the beach. We walked it at a reasonably speed going down to the beach overtaking people on the way and it still took 13 minutes ( so not a great deal longer) but what the owner Ricardo didn’t say was it was downhill all the way. So the opposite was true going back up the hill and it was tiring and hard and not something we looked forward to after spending time at the beach or the old town further on. We saw a number of people using cabs because of it. The only local shops are down the bottom of hill. If you want a larger supermarket you will need to hire a cab or have a hired car. We had a second floor apartment as the house is sunken the back of our apartment which consisted of the back bedroom and the kitchen were below ground level so the view from each was a brick wall covered in Astro-Turf and when you looked up you could see the legs of people walking past in the street. In fairness it was very sunny when we were there so didn’t bother us. The apartment itself was very old fashioned and needed a makeover. Mattresses needed replacing, sofa, and small TV. The air con worked well but was more powerful in one bedroom that the other so caused a bit of a problem trying to moderate for sleep. We were surprised by the lack facilities as there was no basic kitchen equipment even things like an oven glove or tea towel were not provided we purchased what we needed and brought them back with us. The pillows in the apartment were the long Spanish ones which were fine but low and as we are used to sleeping with 2 pillows we asked for 4 more, you would have thought easy to supply but after 3 days of asking were brought 1 more pillow. Even changing the toaster that didn’t pop up was replaced with a very old and chipped one that quite frankly I would have thrown away years ago, on a positive the oven worked well. We also didn’t feel that the swimming pool was cleaned as much as it should have been quite naturally bits from the trees surrounding were always in the pool that cannot be helped, but we often used the large net left by the pool to clean bugs out of the water. For people like ourselves who holiday once a year we felt we had made a mistake with this apartment and in the 10 years we have been visiting Spain had not paid as much for so little in return.
